The Islander "Share Your Photo" Contest - Rules and Info

The contest for new entries will run from November 2007 through February 2008. The 1st place photo in each category for each of the first four (4) winter season months will compete at the end of the season in March. Of these sixteen (16) entries, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be chosen as "Best of Show" for the season. (Any ties will also be included in the finals.)

The six categories are as follows:

• Land and/or Seascapes and Panoramas
• Islander RV Resort Activities and Events (collages ok in this category)
• Sunrises and Sunsets
• Humor
• Close-ups and Macro Lens Photography
• Special Effects (collages, manipulations, enhancements, graphic arts, etc)

The committee will establish the image category placement.

Photo Contest Rules

1. Any image, captured by a registered guest at the Islander EV Resort, within the range of 3x5" and 8x14" may be submitted. Black and Whites and Panoramas (14" or less) are welcome. All images will be returned.
2. Photos should be identified on the back with name and site number and category and may be entered only one time. No captions on the face of the image, except time and/or date stamp which may be placed by commercial processors. Captions on the "Special Effects" images may be placed under the images, by the committee, for explanation, definition and identification needs. Please include a short caption on the back of the image.
3. Submissions are limited to two (2) images, per category, per month, per person.
4. By submitting a photo for consideration, the author agrees that any "model" releases are in place and that there are no liability issues regarding the posting of the photo with the author's name on the web site, Snowbird Newsletters and bulletin boards.
5. Deadline for submissions will be the SATURDAY before the last Monday of each month (when judging and voting will take place) - and please deliver entries to Site 472 or ISL 270.
6. Judging will be the last Monday of the month by peers (all Islander registered guests) at the Monday Morning Coffee Meeting.
7. Only the images will be judged - the Artist's name will be withheld until the judging is completed.
8. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place photos in each category will be placed on the Islander RV Resort Web Site and Bulletin Board.
9. Winner's names will be noted in the next Newsletter.
